In the beginning, there was nothing. No, when I say nothing, I mean
nothing. Nothing. No space. No dimensions. No time itself. It’s
impossible for our brains as they are to imagine this concept of
nothingness. And so that’s part of the reason that the big bang and
the creation of the Universe is such an alien concept to us. How can
something come from nothing?! What is nothing? What is outside this
nothing? What is outside this something we call our universe? Nutty.
Many theories have been postulated about this but still, the fact
is, the main theory still standing is the Big Bang Theory (named
after the cult comedy hit about Physicists..). What this points to
is the creation of everything that started from a single,
infinitesimally small point and from this point, space itself
expanded and time started. Yes, everything you see around you and
all the stars spanning the distance of the universe once were all
squished into a “singularity”. Once again, our brains cannot
conceive this.. It’s completely and utterly deranged. It would be so
much easier to just skip it all and go with an omnipotent being that
just created the universe, no questions asked! But then again, what
would be the point of life, eh?
