The Skin Microbiome is a “Vital” Part of the Endocrine System

New research is dispelling the idea that the skin is just a sheet over our bones and muscles

Scientists from Utah have published a paper describing the skin as “more than a barrier with sensory function”.

"...(the skin is) an intricate biological factory..."

"...and a vital component of the nervous, immune and endocrine systems."

Why is this Important?

It is common knowledge that poor gut health is contributing to “most of the Human diseases affecting westernized countries.”

But the skin is consistently overlooked in discussions about whole body health. It is viewed as totally separate from the rest of the body.

Therefore, if the skin is such a vital part of these vital bodily systems, then could it be just as important as the gut for whole body health?
