Altered Skin Microbiome Found in Rosacea

Significant differences were observed in the skin microbiome of people with rosacea

Rosacea sufferers’ skin was found to have reduced biodiversity even compared to acne skin.

A review article by a medical team from the Medical College of Rzeszow University summarised…

"...[there was a] significantly decreased microbial α-diversity in rosacea subjects..."

Previous studies have found differences in the skin microbiome of people with rosacea compared to healthy people, but are less conclusive on the difference in biodiversity.
