Tumors linked to everyday cosmetics

Chemicals in everyday cosmetics help common tumors grow, say scientists

New Research is revealing how pthalates could increase growth of uterine fibroids. These tumors affect millions of women wordlwide.

Pthalates are common chemicals found in everyday cosmetics, as well as plastics.

These man-made “everywhere chemicals” can be absorbed by skin contact, as well as being inhaled and swallowed.

"Phthalates are also used as solvents in cosmetics and other personal care products."

Worryingly, research suggests that Pthalates can cause adverse health effects on human health that goes beyond tumors.  This is even at “levels below the defined threshold”.

Because of this, environmental health scientist Kyungho Choi suggests “reducing the amounts of chemicals we use“.

Could this be another indication of the link between everyday cosmetics and the chronic disease epidemic in the western world?
