Global Environment Damaged by Microscopic Ecosystem Change

Researchers have developed a model which shows that microscopic biology has a significant effect on macro ecology

A new model shows that “lower level rules of life” affect those in the whole ecosystem, dispelling the myth that the micro and macro are isolated.

This was published in world-leading journal, “Science” and summarised in an article on “Phys.org”.

"...the team showed how microscopic relationships in plankton..."

"...scales up to predictably affect food webs."

Small changes could affect everything?

This shows how extremely small changes in one part of a complex system can have a significant effect on the ecosystem as a whole. This is non-linear physics in action.

Therefore, could very small changes to our skin health have an unprecedented negative effect on whole body health?
