Everyone Possesses a Virtually “Unique” Microbiome

Harvard researchers say our microbiome is "more unique than we first thought"

Harvard scientists have found that we all have a unique microbial fingerprint in and on our bodies.

"The microbiome varies enormously between people,"

""How you feed it and what it's exposed to probably makes a big impact on your health..."

The team looked at the ecosystem of microbes in the gut, nose, mouth, and skin, and treated it as “one fluid system”.

Their findings provide further evidence of how tricky it is to define a “healthy” or “diseased” microbiome composition.

This is why biodiversity appears to be the only reliable indicator of skin health.
