Damaged Skin Microbiome’s Role in Inflammation

An out of balance skin microbiome can lead to "inflammatory responses" and "immune dysregulation"

A damaged skin microbiome results in the release of toxins into the bloodstream, causing inflammation on the skin.

A new review paper also reveals that this altered skin ecosystem can compromise the skin barrier.

"Microbes entering the bloodstream activate molecular signals, leading to immune disorders and subsequent skin inflammatory responses."

However, this could affect much more than just the skin.

It is now becoming evident that toxins released into the bloodstream by a damaged skin microbiome can damage the heart and brain too.
