With biodiversity loss linked to the Chronic Disease Epidemic, finding solutions could become crucial

In our new research, we sum up the main ideas for restoring the biodiversity of our skin microbiome. 

The most promising idea is to create the right conditions on the skin; analogous to how our ancestors enriched soils in the Amazon rainforest to aid plant growth. 

"...a potential path is to cultivate optimal conditions for skin biodiversity to thrive."

The most common idea is the use of probiotics. However, our current knowledge means effective implementation is hard and could cause more damage than good.
